We took Brett to the U of M Campus Day yesterday…what a great place to be! The people there are so friendly….even the ones who aren’t paid to take people on tours : ) I was worried about the food a little…I called ahead and made sure that they had a salad bar because I can almost always make due with what’s on there…but by the time it was lunch time I was really hungry…we walked so much….I was so happy to see plain whipped sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli and other vegetables…a beautiful salad bar with garbanzo beans and fresh raw vegetables…so I had a great lunch! My kitchen still isn’t done so I got to have dinner at Finley’s last night…I decided to have a good attitude about the whole thing…it will get done and it will be fine….and me getting stressed out about it won’t help anything…the lighter counter tops look great already….we had dark mauve with a black sink…depressing….and we don’t have a lot of natural light in the kitchen so it really made it gloomy…now it looks so much happier : )
Today is my tiny little niece’s 4th birthday…she’s such a special little girl and I love her lots and lots!
I took the Real Age test, and it said that I’m 41 and 2 months…which is exactly what I am. Eric thinks the test won’t make you younger than you are because then you won’t buy their stuff to get younger…sounds good to me…I can’t be more than 26:). If you take it let me know how your ages came out please – it’s free.
Tonight we got in around 9:00, we went to a college orientation for Brett so I didn’t get dinner until almost 10:00…I don’t mind…I had a huge salad with the garbanzo beans I sprouted…yummm…and sweet potato fries…I never get sick of those either…the recipe is on line…they’re easy. I was emotional just at the thought of him graduating and going to college…so happy for him…he’s about to start becoming who he’s going to be…and I still want him to be my little boy all at the same time. I think that I’m going to be a blubbering idiot when the real stuff starts happening.
Alexis’s lacrosse practice got canceled due to the snow, she was bummed so I suggested that she do the workout I got her….she wasn’t that bummed. She had a power point presentation to do…I’m so impressed with what she can do on that computer….she definitely got her dad’s gift there….she’s working on a very cool secret project too that I can’t talk about yet…but I will tell you as soon as I can.
We went to Jason and Andrea’s for Easter. There were about 200 eggs for the kids to find….big fun…even in the snow….don’t you love Michigan? I’m ready for green grass, warm air, flowers, birds…all the out door stuff….the sun was shining today though…that makes a world of difference. I took my veggies, corn chips and had some rotisserie chicken…it was great. My tiny niece Reghan was sitting on my lap sharing veggies with me and I didn’t really think anything of her grabbing a tomato…then I felt a splat..we were both covered in tomato seeds : ) Pay attention when you have little one in reach of the food : )
Earlier Eric gave Brett the car keys to get in to do some homework…why he locked the car in the middle of the country…I don’t know…but he did. Brett is one of the smartest people in the world…and I’m not just saying that because he’s my son…but he doesn’t always remember really obvious stuff…like where he put the keys when he was done. We looked all over in and out, up and down. Then I asked God to find the keys for us…immediately I asked Brett if he put them in my purse, he said no…he knew he didn’t…we kept looking…I thought it again then went out to the car where I left my purse…and there they were! God really will help you with anything. Thanks God!
Eric likes to go shopping with me now…and I love it. We went to Horrocks to load up on the veggies…where else can you buy 4 bags of groceries for $30…it doesn’t have to be expensive to be healthy….and 4 other store with me…he’s such a good hubby!
I got one of my old workouts….Kathy Smith’s Fat Burning Work Out…from the library today for my daughter…I want to see if she likes it before I buy it again…it’s from the 80’s…and they look the part : ) I did it a little while ago and forgot how good it makes you feel…I just feel like I did something really good for my body…I hope she likes it…I may buy it again for myself anyway….I do Yoga and The Firm…but this one has a such a nice feeling…if you’re new to working out I don’t think there’s a better one to do, she shows and tells you what and why you’re doing the whole time…you feel stretched and strengthened.
I took a day off spring cleaning and watched DVR episodes of “You are What You Eat” instead. Another British show…I think that I need to visit London….this one is a Dietitian who gets in peoples faces about what they’re eating…but they always get on the right track. They all seem like Simon Cowell on American Idol….the stars of this show and the clean house….they tell it like they see it with no bones about it…Kim, Aggie and Gillian end up being nice and caring though…some times Simon is too : )
I started some garbanzo beans soaking so I can sprout them over the next couple of days…they are my favorite spouts of all time…and so healthy. I had a 75% raw dinner too after getting the beans ready…it inspired me….I had a zucchini in the saladacco….it makes me feel like I’m eating an enormous plate of pasta…with 1/2 C spaghetti sauce and an ounce of Parmesan cheese…really satisfying and healthy…raw zucchini is great for your hair and bones and all of the vitamins and enzymes are in tact….I also had a huge dark green organic salad with spinach, grape tomatoes, onions, sugar snap peas…good healthy me today : ) For Easter tomorrow were going to a family dinner…with lots and lots of goodies and food…stuff I can’t eat…and I’m contributing to the food I can’t eat…when stuff like that comes up I make something on the indulgence end for myself…along with my vegetables…that I’ll make party style and corn chips…also party style…I’m mixing stevia into 1/2 C ricotta cheese and drizzling 2 T of Walden Farms blueberry syrup on it….it tastes like cheese cake with blueberries on it….and does the trick for me! Ok, now I’m off to make the Chicken salad and color Easter Eggs.
I’ve been watching “How Clean is Your House” on BBC. It’s British, I love Kim and Aggie, they’re great…really gets you motivated to clean your house. I’m not just cleaning it though, I’m blessing it too. I have holy water that I brought home from the Basilica near the Mexican boarder…People go there from all over the world to receive healing. They have many many stories, crutches, braces, wheel chairs and other things that people have just left there because they were healed there. The water is said to carry the blessing…so I brought home as many bottles of it as I could…and my mother in law brought me some more : ) I put a small amount in every cleaning thing that I have so that the blessing keeps continuing on…even if I forget…It’s a wonderful feeling it is…can you hear my British accent?
On a sad note, Al….my spiritual mentor and great friend of 15 years said that he was going to be moving a coupe of states away last night….but not until he sells his condo…and this is not a good market so he’ll still be around for a while. The meditation last night was wonderful like always, it just won’t be the same here without him. But I’m not going to think about that today…on with the blessing and cleaning of the house darling…toot-a-loo…and not the toilet…they call a toilet a loo…don’t ya love it dear?
I love spring, I think it’s my favorite season. Everything bursts into life. I’ve been cleaning my house like a mad woman for the past week and loving it. I can’t wait for the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables…but for now…I’ll just be happy seeing the sun again. I laid in bed last night dreaming of cabbage of all things…so that’s for lunch…I need to look it up to see what’s in it.
